Bale Mountain National Park

It is found in the southeastern mountain massifs of Ethiopia. It is the continent’s largest Afro-alpine habitat where the world‘s over half the global population of Ethiopian Wolf and the largest population of Mountain Nyala are found. Over 265 different species of birds have been recorded here and this makes the park one of the best for bird watching. Its different ecological zones, valleys, mountains and plateaus, alpine tarns, and tropical forests offer such an enjoyable experience for mountain hikers.
